Ish Sodhi, originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, moved to New Zealand at the age of four. Working with former Kiwi spinner Dipak Patel from a young age, Sodhi honed his skills, developing a classic leg-break delivery along with an effective googly that has troubled many batters.
Although his List A debut against India A in Vizag didn’t leave a lasting impression, Sodhi's potential was evident, and he was fast-tracked into the national setup. He earned a spot in New Zealand's 15-man squad for the 2013 tour of Bangladesh and made his Test debut in Chittagong, showcasing his talent on the big stage.
